A great team performance saw Ballincollig go through to the next round of the national cup. On a tricky narrow pitch the ‘Collig battled hard for a well deserved win. David McCarthy opened the scoring from the penalty spot after only five minutes and David Walsh added a second half way through the half after a great passing move between six players. Then the hosts got back in the game to make it a nervous last quarter only for man of the match Shane Dineen again to finish a sweeping move. While everyone battled hard on the day, Mark Prendergast, Dylan Kerstein, Alex Marshall and Dara Flanagan didn’t put a foot wrong.
